Change Your Thoughts….Change Your Life!

I’m sure that you’ve heard the phrase “you are what you eat” a million times.  And while this is true for your physical health, for your emotional, spiritual and intellectual health, you are what you think.  How you think will then, in turn, impact your entire life.  The Seven Day Mental Diet is the key to achieving success in all areas of your life and, yes, even your physical health.

Here are the rules of the Seven Day Mental Diet:

  1. For a full seven days, you must not allow yourself to dwell on any negative thought.
  1. Whenever a negative thought enters your mind, you must let it go.
  1. If you do find that you have accepted a negative thought and allowed yourself to think about it for a period of time, even a minute, you have failed to keep yourself free of negative thoughts and you must stop the diet. After a period of time, start the seven days over again.

Now, you can either jump right in and give it a shot, or you can stick with me over the next seven days as I share some guiding principles to help along.  My hope is that you stay here to learn more to help you be better prepared for this journey because even though this diet is not a difficult one, it’s definitely NOT easy!

 

Guiding Principle One:
You Are What You Think, And So Is Everything Else

Change your mind and you’ll change your life.  This is the key to a happy successful life.  When you change the way you think, everything else in your life (your relationships, environment, financial status, daily activities, and even your physical health) will change as a result.  Everything in your life depends on how you think.

The Law of Attraction states that whatever things, people, events, opportunities and situations you think about, focus on and feel strongly about, you will attract into your life. This means that if you think about, focus on and feel strongly about things that you want in your life, they will show up.  I’ve seen this happen in my own life many times.

This is why it’s so important to train your thoughts so that you think about, focus on and desire only those things that you want to attract into your life.   The thoughts you have today actually create your reality tomorrow.  The things you thought about a year ago actually brought you to the exact life you are living today.  And, the thoughts you are thinking right now will determine your life tomorrow, next week, next month and so on.

I love sharing transformation stories, but one of the things I constantly hear with every story is how the person also changed on the inside.  Change actually begins on the inside.  You cannot change anything about your life—not in a lasting way—without changing the way you think.

The only thing that you can actually control in this world is your thoughts.  But, once you accept that you have the ability to control your thoughts and change your life, that also means you can no longer lay the blame on anyone or anything else. No more blaming other people or your circumstances or your past.  You become totally responsible for your life.  Are you ready to deal with that?  It’s your choice.
